First, lets go over some facts.

According to, it is estimated that 93.3 million Americans are obese. Of those 93 million, about 300,000 -600,000 die from obesity related complications every year and it’s only getting worse. (1)

So, before you run to the nearest fitness center and start signing up for a brand spanking new membership, lets see why we are still the fattest country in the world.

Let me ask you, when you walk into your local convivence store or gas station, do you usually see an abundance of healthy organic vegetables, fruits, grains, and lean grilled meats?

 Probably not!

They are usually stock piled with chips, hot dogs, pizza, doughnuts, candy, and plenty of other deep fried or processed foods.

Even if they do offer you fresh produce, which one are you more likely to steer to first?


We are fat because 90% of the foods you see on the shelf at your local grocery store are processed foods!

It still goes beyond that, because we still have WAY TOO MANY fast food options that are NOT HEALTHY.

So, instead of me telling you to start exercising immediately, I am going to tell you to fix your eating habits FIRST!

Weight loss success comes from about 80% diet, and the other 20% is from exercising. So obviously our entire main focus is going to revolve around your diet.  

Alright, so with out further a due, let’s get to it!

How you can lose belly fat without exercise FAST!

1. Reset Your System 

How do I do this?

Even before I tell you how, lets go over WHY you want to do this.

Your body has many different hormones that are interconnected. They are responsible for digesting, absorbing, dispersing and disposing of nutrients that come from the foods you are eating.

What are these hormones?

  • Insulin
  • Leptin
  • Glycogen
  • Cortisol

What ends up happening is because your body has become so used to consuming these processed foods and carbohydrates (I call this garbage food), your body’s hormones can no longer perform these essential functions correctly.

Correcting this takes more than just eating a healthy diet. Remember, these hormones are all out of whack!

The only way to correct this by doing a detox.

Not just a sugar detox, but a carbohydrate detox.

During this time, you want to consume NO MORE than 50 carbohydrates a day.

After about a week or two, you can start to SLOWLY reintroduce carbohydrates back into the picture.

Here’s how it would look-

First Week 1: 0-50 carbs a day.

Next Week 2: 50- 75 carbs a day.

Last Week 3: 100-150 carbs a day.

2.Get Enough Sleep

I really can emphasize this enough!

Your body is going through some MAJOR changes on a detox. Your body is going to freak out a little bit.

At first, you’re going to be tired. Your body has just depleted all of its glycogen stores and is now forced to find another source for energy during this time.

Yes, it will have no other choice but to use fat as an energy source. During this time, it is IMPERATIVE that your body heals (the body does all it’s healing when it’s sleeping) during this transition.

Eventually, your body will adjust and you will start getting your energy back. In fact, you will probably start feeling better. It’s not over yet though!

Even if you start feeling better, you still need to make sure you are getting enough sleep EVERYNIGHT!

You should be getting anywhere from 7.5-9 hours of sleep.

3. Abstain From Sugar!

I realize that you are on a carbohydrate detox, so obviously you aren’t planning on having any sugar. What you probably don’t realize is how often you consume sugar without even realizing it!

So here are some tips to make sure you aren’t consuming any by accident. Avoid consuming any foods that have these listed on the ingredients list

  • Anhydrous dextrose
  • Brown sugar
  • Confectioner’s powdered sugar
  • Corn syrup
  • Corn syrup solids
  • Dextrose
  • Fructose
  • Invert sugar
  • Lactose
  • Maltose
  • Malt syrup
  • Molasses
  • Sucrose

Mistakes I have made in the past.

I used to put Splenda in my coffee every morning. There’s a problem with this, my body can’t tell the difference between Splenda and real sugar!

One particular study (about Splenda) showed us that because your body cannot tell the difference between real sugar and artificial sweeteners, your body will still release the insulin expecting to find glucose in the blood. (source)

So, avoid artificial sweeteners, because you are still going to be triggering those same hormonal responses. We don’t want to do that, remember that we are trying to reset them.

The only one I approve is stevia, so if you want to have coffee with stevia that is fine.

4. Drink Enough Water

Once again, your body is going through some major changes and your food cravings are going to be off the charts. During this time, it is important to consume PLENTY of water.

Let’s put it this way, if you see anything other than clear when you make a visit to the restroom, you AREN’T DRINKING ENOUGH WATER!

You want to make sure you are getting AT LEAST ¾ of a gallon of water a day. For one, it will put some of those cravings at bay. Second, you won’t be mistaking hunger for thirst (this happens all the time).
