I remember the first time I made a protein shake, it was pretty disgusting! I figured that’s how they were supposed to taste, like chalky nothingness. This was also about 15 years ago when choices were rather limited, and I also wasn’t educated on the what was considered good or bad.

Luckily, times have changed for the better regarding the fitness world. Now we have an OVER-ABUNDANCE of information when it comes to nutrition, including what we know about protein.

I’ll spare you the mumbo jumbo about the different types of proteins, which ones are better, and how they affect your body. I wanted to make an enjoyable article for the fall season to get you in the spirts for the cooler weather, color changes, and of course Halloween.

I know that ANYTIME fall approaches, everyone, and myself included, cannot wait for the next pumpkin infused recipe. So, of course, I am writing about pumpkin protein-packed desserts for losing weight.

I hope you’re excited, because not only are these low in carbs and high in protein, but they taste F****** amazing!

Before I get to it though, I wanted to go off on a slight tangent about some interesting facts you probably DIDN’T know about pumpkin. I’m not talking about the pre-packaged pumpkin in can you spread on your pumpkin pie mix, I’m talking about the real stuff.

I bet you didn’t know that pumpkin puree provides great digestive benefits. This is because pumpkin puree naturally contains high levels of fiber. Just one cup alone has 7 grams of fiber.

In addition to its digestive benefits, pumpkin puree also boosts your immunity and helps prevent disease. This is due to its high concentrations of the well-known antioxidant, beta-carotene.

So not only is pumpkin amazingly delicious, but it’s also nutritious.

OK! Enough with the babble already, let’s get to it!

Pumpkin Protein-Packed Desserts for Losing Weight

1. Pumpkin Protein Cookies

This one, I especially love! With only 1 gram of sugar, and 3 grams of carbs, 2 grams of fat, and 5 grams of protein per cookie! The cookies are incredibly soft and extremely delicious. The recipe is great with pretty simple ingredients. The ingredients consist of flax seed, chia seeds, cinnamon, eggs, vanilla, SF almond milk, stevia, whey protein powder, baking soda, baking powder, and pumpkin puree.

2. Pumpkin Pie Protein Donuts

First off, who doesn’t love donuts, but pumpkin donuts that are healthy and full of protein. Count me in! These delicious protein donuts consist of egg, plain non-fat Greek yogurt, SF vanilla almond milk, pureed pumpkin, unsweetened applesauce, vanilla, nutmeg, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, Truvia or Stevia, and oat flour. This recipe calls for a little more ingredient, but well worth it to get that sweet tooth fix while still enjoying a low carb treat!

3. Pumpkin Spice Protein Balls

This sounds too much like the pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. That was my favorite drink from Starbucks. Unfortunately, I no longer consume this latte anymore due to the fact its high in everything that I consider unhealthy. The alternative, replace the latte with THIS to fix that little craving I get every fall. This lovely recipe calls for almonds, walnuts, maple syrup (very little), protein powder, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, and just a tiny amount of chocolate chips (why not). These little sweet pumpkin protein treats are meant to be served chilled.

4. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Protein Muffins

I personally love muffins, so add pumpkin and chocolate chip into the mix, and I’m all in. This amazing recipe is less than 120 calories, low in carbs, gluten-free,  high in protein, and taste absolutely phenomenal! These delicious muffins call for old-fashioned oats, pumpkin puree, eggs, Greek yogurt, vanilla protein, pumpkin spice, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and a few chocolate chips. Toss the ingredients into a blender, stir it all together, and throw it in the oven to bake this delicious delight!

5. Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake

Last but not least, pumpkin protein shake! The great thing about this shake is, it doesn’t require too many ingredients! The ingredients are sweet potato, protein powder, SF almond milk, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cloves, and a pinch of sea salt. This entire fall recipe can be whipped together in under 5 minutes. Just blend all the ingredients together, and enjoy!
