I myself have undergone trial and error with a lot of different supplements.

So, I am only going to list the ones I believe in, and have some actual scientific data to back up these claims.

Let’s eliminate the confusion for you.

Here are some of best supplements you need to eliminate belly fat, and the kicker is  THEY ACTUALLY WORK.

1. Protein:

I’m sure you would never have guessed that (just kidding).

Let’s cover why protein is so important for weight loss.

Protein helps boost metabolism, reduces appetite, and is involved in helping regulate key weight loss hormones. (source)

Second, protein helps you build lean muscle tissue, which ultimately leads to helping people lose belly fat (burn more calories at rest the more muscle you have).

While you have the option of choosing whey protein or plant-based protein, whey protein has been shown to be more effective for weight loss purposes.

Studies show that consuming whey protein may lead to loss of belly fat and an increase in lean muscle tissue. (1)(2)

2. Apple Cider Vinegar:

There are a couple of ways apple cider vinegar helps with weight loss.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar has been shown to increase fullness, which actually helps to reduce your calories intake. (1)(2)
  2. Apple Cider vinegar has also been shown to slow the rate at which food leaves your stomach. This ultimately leaves you feeling fuller for longer.
  3. It contains acetic acid, which helps keep pH levels balanced and helps will long-term weight loss.

Some other health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar:

  • Lowers blood sugar and insulin
  • Lowers fasting blood sugar
  • Improves insulin sensitivity
  • Decreases Cholesterol
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Kills harmful bacteria

Great! So, then how do I take it?

There are a couple of ways you can consume it (doesn’t taste great by itself).

  1. Can mix 1-2 tablespoons into an 8 oz glass of water.
  2. It is available in tablet form
  3. Can mix it in with salads or other foods

You should consume apple cider vinegar 2-3 times per day 30 minutes before you eat.

I personally use and love Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar

3. Vitamin D:

There are many studies that suggest that vitamin D reduces fat accumulation (source), reduces the formation of new fat cells (source), and lower levels of vitamin D are associated with people having a higher body fat percentage (1)(2)

Vitamin D also helps with increasing the production of serotonin, which controls your appetite. Vitamin D can also increase satiety, decrease the number of calories you consume, and reduce your overall body weight. (source)

Another great benefit to Vitamin D is it helps boost testosterone, which has been said to play a large role in weight loss. (source)

The best ways said to get your daily dose of vitamin D is either through 5-30 minutes of sun exposure. Depending on where you live, this can be quite difficult throughout certain times of the year.

The other option is through supplementation. You should take at least 600 IU of vitamin D per day.

4. Vitamin B-12

The famous vitamin B-12, known primarily for its benefits toward boosting energy levels.

While it may not directly cause to lose body fat, it will, however, help you with getting you moving and aiding in workouts.

5. Fish Oil:

A great source of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s can help by reducing body fat mass and stimulating lipid oxidation (triggering different enzymes processes involved in the process of burning belly fat). (source)

Not only may fish oil help with burning fat, but it also may help reduce your hunger and appetite. One study concluded that people who consumed a higher dose of fish oil reported feeling significantly fuller for up to two hours after they ate. (source)

Unfortunately, most adults do not consume enough of the foods that are naturally high in omega-3s such as fish and nuts. The best way to ensure you are getting enough fish oil is from fish oil supplements.

6. Probiotics:

Probiotics are essentially live microorganisms that provide an array of health benefits when you eat them.

They can improve heart health, digestive health, and immune function. (1)(2)(3)

There are different types of probiotics, and some work better than others for weight loss. Lactobacillus rhamnosus (LPR), has been shown to be the most effective.

One study overlooked the effects LPR had on women over a three-month period. The results showed that the women taking the probiotic experienced 50% more weight loss compared to the placebo group. (source)

My suggestion? Start healing your gut today by taking a reputable probiotic. You have to be careful to make sure you are getting a good quality product. 

I am currently using Garden Of Life Raw Probiotics.

7. BCAA’s:

The benefits of BCAA are similar to that of whey protein.

They improve recovery time, speed up fat loss, and prevent muscle wasting.

While the effects of BCAA’s are still being further studied, we do know that BCAA’s are said to help prevent muscle wasting and ensure protein synthesis (rebuilding of muscles).

Studies have even shown that using BCAA’s can inhibit muscle protein breakdown. (source)

Furthermore, another not as well-known benefit of BCAA’s is its ability to help people with cirrhosis (liver disease).

Studies have shown that BCAA supplements can offer protection against liver cancer in people living with cirrhosis. (1)(2)

BCAA’s have helped me get where I am today. I personally use them for every workout.

I recommend using Optimum Nutrition BCAA, I’ve been their brand for as long as I can remember.

  2. Oh my goodness, Thank you for this most helpful information. I really enjoyed reading this artical. I already use several of these products but not all I will be sure to add them to my list. I love this artical because so many people write and say I can save you from this and that, No more high blood pressure or diabetes. And then at the end of their speach they haven’t said a word and want 449.95 for the rest of the story. You have just given it to us stright-up no crap just the truth. I love it.
